From the moment walking in WP24 the experience was no short of excellent. Stepping into the luxe dinning experience in The Ritz Carlton in DTLA you’ll notice the energy is contagious. Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves and the experience amongst close friends. Immediately after entering I knew I’d be back as it is a perfect hot spot for a night out on the town or to bring a date.
Situated in the heart of Los Angeles, five minutes from the Staple Center (which is by far my favorite neighborhood in Los Angeles) you’re given superb views of all of Downtown which is always a conversation starter and candy for the eyes. As you know I’m a sucker for anything design and I fell hard for the interior during my visit to WP24. I’m obsessed with mixing dark elements in a well lit space and thats just what they’ve done with WP24. They kept it simple and clean while adding glamorous touches to the space and got it right with the details. With the large windows and the skyline its an amazing spot to watch the sunset while dinning and enjoying company.
The menu had an assortment of delicious Asian cuisine along with options to make items gluten free and or vegan which in LA is a must, just not for me! Their drink menu had an array of clean and well thought cocktails that went well with the dishes. We decided to go for pearfect asian, mostly because I really enjoy a good pun and because I love lime and ginger! For our appetizer we went the crystal chive dumplings which are literally to die for. They included alaskan king crab, shrimp, pork and Chinese mustard to top it all off. We went ahead and ordered another appetizer because we just couldn’t help ourselves and went for steamed bao buns that had slow cooked pork belly and sweet garlic glaze, these literally melted in our mouths and I had to hold back from ordering a second round to keep room for the main course.
When the main course arrived I had to ask my friends to wait before we dug in because I just had to take another food file (Yes, I’m that person.) The plating was so well curated and you know I’m a sucker for the details in just about everything. We went with the grilled sonoma lamb chop and broiled Japanese cod.
The grilled Sonma lamp chops was like something I’ve never had before. I’ve had lamb chop many times in my life and have never been so satisfied. Seasoned with cilantro mint vinaigrette, mizen, ginger and crispy garlic made my tastebuds go straight into bliss. For the broiled Japanese cod prepared with ginseng honey and black sesame vinaigrette and sided with tempura vegetables which was absolutely exquisite.
After finishing just about every bite we relaxed and enjoyed ourselves and the night sky right from our seats in WP24 . It was truly a sybaritic experience and I definitely see myself bringing new and old friends back to WP24 time and time again!

I feel like the last few weeks have consisted of me running and jumping with commitments and plans and getting ready for travel. I have this love/hate with being busy. I can’t complain because I’m busy doing all the things I love and aspire to do but I can’t help but sometimes be selfish and crave the leisure of ease.
Theres something so easy about a day where you really aren’t committed to anything and nothing is pulling at your immediate attention. But then again when those days actually do come around I suppose the really worry of the day is why you don’t have anything going on.
Something I’ve always been good at is not taking every situation so seriously but even I sometimes get exhausted in this rat race we call life. So today I sit back on this busy September day and realize I’m grateful for everything I have going and everything I have coming and with that lets go!

I have this thing where I just love to be slightly inappropriate. You know I could never call myself a gentleman. I’m not a suite guy and I don’t think I ever will be. I also have never had a desk job and never had to dress “business casual. I know lucky me.
Needless to say as much as I love my leather jacket I do love getting dressed up a bit with a nice a shirt. Though I still think throwing over a leather jacket with anything makes it only better (I wore a leather jacket to high school prom!) With this look I paired a stripped shirt from INCMen which is great because it has such modern fit that can be dressed up or down with a pair of loose trousers and a neck tie I got from Urban.
I’ve noticed for women the chocker trend has been here for awhile (throwback) and men have been doing the whole bandanna thing but I thought I’d try out a chocker look for men with a thick tie I picked up at Urban. What do ya think?

From the architecture, to the scenic views – The Getty Museum is one of Los Angeles’s finest. Holding some of the worlds most famous artists from van Gogh to Manzù. Located in the hills overlooking the city of Angeles. I come to the Getty to not only take in all the history it capsules but also to enjoy the amazing architecture.
I’m a sucker for interesting architecture especially modern and geometric. I went out to the Getty this past weekend and for a change spent most of my time outside the museum taking in the design of the museum and playing with my camera (whats new?)
Every time I’ve visited The Getty I’ve come back with a different experience and this time was no different. I came back for an appreciation for design and easy parking (okay I just can’t be that serious.)

I’ve always been a major stripe guy throughout all my young life. From stripped pants to stripped jackets to stripped accessories I wore it all. Stripes have been a consistent thing in my closet throughout all the different styles and trends and heres why.
Unlike most patterns like Florals or houndstooth stripes can be (though anything can be, f$^# rules!) worn at any time. They don’t have a connotation with a certain time of year and are often being sported on all the cat walks, all the time.
Pattern on Pattern
I’m all about a pattern on pattern moment though many patterns just don’t work. I’ve found it seriously easier to mix pattern with stripes and this just makes stripping even more of a reason.
Stripes don’t go out of style! They have been here forever and they aren’t going anywhere. You can go back for decades and see people still rocking stripes, It’s always easier to invest in pieces that are timeless and stripes are just that.
Now manipulative is not normally a good word but in this case it is. With stripes you manipulate the appearance of yourself such as wearing vertical stripes can help slim you and vice-versa for horizontal. This is great for people looking to slim or looking to gain a few pounds (looks at self.)
Stripes can really it into any style. From a pair of khakis a stripped top on a yacht to moshing at a show in black skinnies and a stripped long sleeve to wearing stripped pants on Madison. It works with everyone and their unique style.
