I would love to live my life in black and white, I don’t like hamburgers, I can’t bring myself to make my bed. Yet I love the blue of the ocean, like bread, lettuce, tomato and beef but just not together, and admire a neat put together space.
I am a walking paradox.
I’m Eric Jess. Born and raised in Southern California. I dressed in a suite and tie in elementary school and had my own business card by the age of seven. A wall street stockbroker was my first dream job. I’m not sure if it was because they got to live in the city that never sleeps, drive a bad ass car and eat at those awesome restaurants that you need a magnifying glass to see the food on the plate or because I actually had a interest in hostile takeovers.
I don’t think normal was ever a word I’d define myself under.
When I bought myself (on my own) my first computer at the age of eight, I immediately was overwhelmed with the amazement that I could connect with others across the oceans. You know every eight year olds dream is to talk with a web developer from Norway about how to create a website for free on a slow dial up connection, right? I started blogging before I knew what blogging was. I liked to write. And once I started I never stopped. I’ve used WordPress, Blogger, Typepad, and the like. As long as I got words out, I was content. And then I met video and I really fell hard.
Here I am today, this kid from LA with a mind that is way too old for my own good that is in love city lights, vintages cameras, leather, music and documenting menswear, travel and lifestyle. Now take your jacket off, put your reading glasses on and stay for awhile.
